Real tests on real appliances — earth continuity, insulation resistance and leakage — using a PAT tester. Bring your own or borrow one of ours.

Show you can inspect, test and record results correctly, and go home with a UKRS-accredited Certificate of Competence plus lifetime support.

Training three or more people?

Once you are past a couple of delegates, bringing the course to your premises usually costs less than sending everyone to Swindon — and your team trains on your own equipment, on a date that suits your shifts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be an electrician?

No. You need training and to be assessed as competent, which is exactly what this course does. Most people can become a PAT tester after completing it.

What certificate do I get?

A UKRS-accredited Certificate of Competence from TTS, issued on successful completion. It satisfies the vast majority of employers and clients — if you have been asked for something specific in writing, send it to us and we will tell you whether this covers it.

Do I need to bring a PAT tester?

Not unless you want to. Bring your own and we will teach you on the machine you will actually use; otherwise borrow one of ours for the day at no charge.

How long is the certificate valid?

There is no fixed expiry, but the IET Code of Practice is periodically revised and most employers ask for a refresher every three years. We will tell you where the current edition stands on the day.
