Bring

Just yourself

All course materials are provided. Bring your own PAT tester if you have one — we will show you how to use it — or borrow ours free of charge.

Training three or more people?

Once you are past a couple of delegates, bringing the course to your premises usually costs less than sending everyone to Bristol — and your team trains on your own equipment, on a date that suits your shifts.

Once you are testing, you will need labels — and eventually calibration. We sell testers, labels, adaptors and printers, and we calibrate: the TTS PAT shop.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be an electrician?
No. You need training and to be assessed as competent, which is exactly what this course does. Most people can become a PAT tester after completing it.
What certificate do I get?
A UKRS-accredited Certificate of Competence from TTS, issued on successful completion. It satisfies the vast majority of employers and clients — if you have been asked for something specific in writing, send it to us and we will tell you whether this covers it.
Do I need to bring a PAT tester?
Not unless you want to. Bring your own and we will teach you on the machine you will actually use; otherwise borrow one of ours for the day at no charge.
How long is the certificate valid?
There is no fixed expiry, but the IET Code of Practice is periodically revised and most employers ask for a refresher every three years. We will tell you where the current edition stands on the day.
What if the date I want is sold out?
Only bookable dates are shown above, so anything listed has places. If nothing suits, call 01793 497181 — we run courses across the UK every week and can usually find something nearby.
