Equal Opportunities Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026 · TTS Training Services Ltd

Our commitment

TTS Training Services Ltd is committed to promoting equal opportunities and to treating everyone we work with fairly, with dignity and with respect. We believe that everyone should have the same access to our training, and the same opportunity to succeed on it, regardless of who they are or where they come from.

We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination, and we are committed to meeting our duties under the Equality Act 2010.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to everyone connected with our business: our employees and directors, people applying to work with us, learners and delegates on our courses, people enquiring about or booking training, and any associates, contractors, training partners and visitors acting on our behalf.

What we mean by equal opportunities

We will not discriminate against, harass or victimise any person because of a “protected characteristic”. Under the Equality Act 2010 the protected characteristics are:

  • age;
  • disability;
  • gender reassignment;
  • marriage and civil partnership;
  • pregnancy and maternity;
  • race — including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin;
  • religion or belief;
  • sex;
  • sexual orientation.

This commitment covers direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, discrimination by association or perception, harassment and victimisation.

Access to our training

Everyone is welcome on our courses. Course places, dates and prices are offered on the same terms to all, and decisions about a person’s place on a course, their assessment and their certification are based only on genuine training and competence requirements — never on a protected characteristic.

Where a course has a genuine legal, safety or awarding-body entry requirement (for example a minimum age, or a level of physical capability needed to complete a practical assessment safely), we will explain that requirement clearly and apply it consistently to everyone.

Reasonable adjustments

If you have a disability, a learning difficulty, or any other need that could affect how you take part in a course or an assessment, please tell us when you book or as early as you can. We will make reasonable adjustments wherever we can so that you can take part on an equal footing — for example adjusting how materials are provided, allowing extra time, or arranging the room and equipment to suit. Talking to us early gives us the best chance of putting the right arrangements in place in time for your course.

Employment and recruitment

We apply the same principles to how we recruit, employ, train, promote and reward the people who work with us. Recruitment and employment decisions are based on merit — the skills, experience and qualities the role needs — and never on a protected characteristic.

Harassment, bullying and victimisation

We do not tolerate harassment, bullying or victimisation of anyone, whether by a member of our staff, a learner, a partner or a client. This includes unwanted conduct related to a protected characteristic that violates a person’s dignity, or that creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment. Anyone who behaves in this way on one of our courses or in connection with our business may be asked to leave and, where they are a member of staff, may face disciplinary action.

Responsibility

Overall responsibility for this policy sits with the directors of TTS Training Services Ltd. Everyone who works with us, and everyone who attends our training, is expected to act in line with it and to help make sure that everyone is treated fairly and with respect.

Raising a concern

If you believe you have been treated unfairly, discriminated against or harassed in connection with our training or our business, please tell us. You can raise it with the office on 01793 497181 or by email to office@tts-uk.co.uk, or follow our complaints procedure. We take every concern of this kind seriously, we will look into it promptly and fairly, and you will not be treated any less favourably for having raised it in good faith.

Monitoring and review

We keep this policy under review to make sure it continues to reflect the law and the way we work, and we will update it when we need to.
